Launch week event schedule

Greetings to our Green Dot community. Next week is our official public launch. Here is the updated schedule of events. Please join us for as many events as you can.

Monday, March 5th: Auburn City Council 60 Court Street, Auburn

The council meeting starts at 7:00. We are doing a short presentation at the top of the agenda, so we would like as many members as possible there. We suggest you arrive at 6:45, and our presentation and any questions should be over by 7:30. Please wear your Green Dot t-shirt.

Tuesday, March 6th: Lewiston City Council, City Hall, 27 Pine Street, Lewiston

The council meeting starts at 7:00 and we plan to make a brief announcement about Green Dot and our launch during the short public input time at the beginning of the council meeting. We would like as many members present for that as possible, wearing their Green Dot t-shirts. Please arrive shortly before 7:00 and feel free to leave after our comments.

Wednesday, March 7th: Presentation to the Chamber of Commerce

We are doing a one-hour lunchtime presentation for members of the Chamber. This is not a public event.

Thursday, March 8th: Noon walk on Lisbon Street

We are meeting at Dufresne Plaza (Google map) on Lisbon Street at noon and will walk slowly (with our banner, on the sidewalks) towards Main Street, across Lisbon at the next to last crosswalk, back down Lisbon to Chestnut, past Simones', left along the park, left toward Lisbon St, left on Pine, right at the Library, and back down Lisbon to Dufresne. . We would like as many of our Instructors and Ambassadors who can join us to be there in their t-shirts.

This is really exciting. After months of planning, focus groups to learn about our community and design a specific program for us, a fantastic 4 day training in August, and another 6 months of work behind the scenes, we are about to transition from a great idea to a real-world program that will foster positive cultural norms and strengthen our  community. This has been a wonderful group effort. No one has done everything, but so many have each done something. Thank you. We look forward to working together on many more Green Dot activities as we move forward.
